　　中秋节的晚上，星光闪闪，凉风习习，一轮明月悬挂空中。路灯亮了，清溪洼顿时变成银色的世界。人们纷纷走出家园，去广场花园赏月。
　　这时，4号楼的焦大妈，收拾好碗筷，送走小儿子，也走出家门。她蹒跚地来到小花园，迎面碰见快嘴刘。
　　快嘴刘见焦大妈面黄肌瘦，疲惫不堪，走路摇摇晃晃，于是大吃一惊，急忙问道：“焦嫂，几天不见，您今儿怎么啦？”焦大妈还没有开口，眼泪就啪嗒啪嗒地往下掉。
　　过了一会，焦大妈忍着泪，才开始慢慢地告诉快嘴刘：“我的颈椎病又犯了，而且拉肚子，一天好几次，吃不下，睡不着，浑身没有一点劲，吃了几付药才渐渐好起来。就这样，每天早晨我还得替小儿子打扫卫生，累得我腰酸腿痛……”说着说着她又哭起来。
　　焦大妈有两个儿子，小儿子在身边，大儿子在新疆工作。
　　快嘴刘忙问：“你儿子不是在家嘛，你扫地，他干什么？”
　　焦大妈说：“他天天早晨睡大觉。”
　　没等快嘴刘再问，焦大妈又絮絮叨叨地说起小儿子的事情来。
　　“自从俺老头去世后，我就和小儿子分开过。2000年他买断工龄（有偿解除劳动合同），我的生活费全由大儿子供给。后来，孙女在津门上高中，媳妇去陪读，小儿子没活干，就在我家蹭饭。2005年他重新上岗，为了多份收入，就又揽了一份清扫体育馆卫生的活，他说他的工作太忙，就让我每天早晨替他打扫卫生。他叫我每天早晨天不亮就去干活，尽量不要让熟人看见，他怕别人见了说闲话。我都70多岁的人了，又有颈椎病，一下腰就头晕，可我怕他生气，所以也不敢推辞。”
　　快嘴刘接着说：“都是你惯的，你就是心太软，啥事都依着你儿子。”
　　焦大妈说：“这也没法，将来我老了，还得靠他。”
　　焦大妈停了一会，她又说：“小刘，说来你准不信，我家连台洗衣机都没有。我洗衣服，都是用手洗。有一天我让小儿子给我买台洗衣机，你猜他怎么说？他说手洗好，手洗可以锻炼身体。今年夏天，我给他100块钱，让他卖瓜时顺便也给我买点，可他拿了钱，从来没给我买过个瓜。这还不算，中秋节我大儿子给我寄来2斤月饼，我的血糖偏高，不敢吃甜食，都给小儿子家了。有一次，我买了一只烧鸡，自己舍不得吃，赶紧给孙女送去。我敲开门，他们正请客吃饭，我放下烧鸡后就知趣地走了，我不走，他也不会留我吃饭。”
　　停了一会儿，焦老太继续说：“更可气的是，他背着我给他哥哥要钱。”
　　快嘴刘赶紧问：“这事您怎么知道的？”
　　焦老太说：“事情是这样的，有一天，我大儿子来电话，问我的病好了没有，我有点纳闷，就说我没病呀！原来小儿子给他哥打电话，说我病了，叫他哥哥赶快给他寄些钱来给我治病，他哥给他寄来500块钱，他一直瞒着我。我觉得他编瞎话骗他哥哥的钱不像话，就去问他。他听了很生气，骂道：‘他妈的，这点小钱还值得说，真不是东西！’你给我评评理，他说的这是人话吗？”
　　焦老太刚说过又后悔了，她小声对快嘴刘说：“这话你可别告诉别人，要是传到我小儿子的耳朵里，可就麻烦了，他一定会闹得我不得安宁。”
　　快嘴刘听了，连连说：“可怜天下父母心，可怜天下父母心！”
